Today was fun. I actually went to the Pep Rally today! It was so boring. I hate pep rallies. The only reason that I went was because my friend was in it, and she did an amazing job, by the way! =)

I was actually not going to go, but I'm so glad I did! Before I got there I was walking alone in the hallway. Then, this really amazing guy that's in my English class came out of his 4th period class right when I was walking toward it, and we just looked at each other. He has these really amazing colored eyes! But me, being the idiot that I am, just looked at him. Didn't say anything, of course. But he didn't say anything either, which was good =) But it's almost like it had meaning in it. Weird, huh? That was probably the highlight of my day. (I had a very uneventful day.)

So Happy Halloween everyone!

Peace.

Between Two Hills

We're doing a research project for dead poets in English, and I got Carl Sandburg. This was the first poem that I read while I was looking him up on the Internet and I love it!

Between two hills
The old town stands.
The houses loom
And the roofs and trees
And the dusk and the dark,
The damp and the dew
Are there.

The prayers are said
And the people rest
For sleep is there
And the touch of dreams
Is over all.

~Carl Sandburg

Isn't it awesome! I've never heard of him, but so far I like a lot of his poems!

Peace.

Annabel Lee

We read this poem in English a few days ago. I always love Poe's poems and stories, so I obviously love this one:

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason, that long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her high-born kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre,
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angel, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me...
Yes!--that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we,
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee,

For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling--my darling--my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

~Edgar Allen Poe

Peace.

Pandas Are Adorable! =D ♥

So far this week:

We had a substitute for Orchestra on Monday. She couldn't play an instrument so we got half of the class period to practice and the other half to do nothing. It was great. How come we never have a substitute for Orchestra that can play an instrument? Same thing for French: we never have a sub that can speak french. Well once we did. But still, most of the time subs don't know anything about what they're subbing for. It just irritates me.

Also on Monday the orchestra room smelled reeeeaallly bad. We're having a soda/water sale, I don't remember what for, but we had to bring in bottles of soda and water to sell and put them in the back room. Well, apparently one of the soda coolers spilled and fermented or something like that, and made the room smell like sour milk. Gross. P

I got an 87 on my French exam. Don't ask. I didn't know how that was even possible.

For English I have to write six poems: 1 is due on Friday and the other 5 are due on Monday to be put in a book. I suck at writing poetry. Wish me luck! =)

And one more thing: my friend talked to the guy (you know who =) Not that I asked her to or anything. She just did it while I was sitting next to him. He said he won't date anyone until he is ready. His last girlfriend thought he was cheating on her. (which I know he didn't and would never!) He still has the scars on his hands. I got so mad. How could she do that to him?! He is so sweet, and would never do anything like that! I just don't know. ='(

Peace.

Reluctance

Out through the fields and the woods
And over the walls I have wended;
I have climbed the hills of view
And looked at the world, and descended;
I have come by the highway home,
And lo, it is ended.

The leaves are all dead on the ground,
Save those that the oak is keeping
To ravel them one by one
And let them go scraping and creeping
Out over the crusted snow,
When others are sleeping.

And the dead leaves lie huddled and still,
No longer blown hither and thither;
The last lone aster is gone;
The flowers of the witch hazel wither;
The heart is still aching to seek,
But the feet question "Whither?"

Ah, when to the heart of man
Was it ever less than a treason
To go with the drift of things,
To yield with a grace to reason,
And bow and accept the end
Of a love or a season?

Still Tired...

This weekend was pretty boring compared to the last few weekends:

Yesterday I felt extremely sick. I had really bad stomach pains. And on Friday night I must have slept in an awkward position because I had back pains all yesterday, and it's better today but not completely. =P

I'm still so tired, I don't know why! I slept in yesterday since I didn't go to the plant sale, and I slept in till 8 today. Which is surprisingly late for me. My mom keeps on threatening to take me to the doctor because she thinks I'm deathly sick 'cause I'm always so tired! Haha! =)

Hmmm...this week nothing's going on. Except this one guy is coming to our orchestra on Friday to check out our instruments and see if there's any damage on them to "make our orchestra sound better". Blah.

Halloween is Friday. Can you believe it?! It seems school just started a few weeks ago. The first quarter is almost over, which is the first nine weeks in school. Yay! I can't wait for Christmas either. I hope it snows this year! It just doesn't feel like Christmas to me without snow. It's weird.

My computer is so stupid! I think it has a virus on it, it keeps on freezing. I had to restart it four times yesterday because it kept on freezing. Then today it wouldn't let me shut it down, so I had to crawl behind my desk to turn off the power switch. It is so stupid. =P

That's basically it. =)

Peace.

How Could This Possibly Be Love?

My friend just texted me again. She likes a different guy now. Except she said she didn't like him. She loooooves him.

Sure, I'm being a good friend, texting her back saying. "OMG! Who is he?! Is he hot?!?!?!" and all the things that girls should say to each other when they find out that their friend likes someone else. You should be supportive, which is what I'm trying to be.

How could she possibly 'loooooove' him though?

I'm a strong believer in love at first sight. But she's only 15. How could she love him? And he's a senior, around 18, I think. Now THAT sounds kinda wrong to me, don't you think? It's better than the 37 year old stalker she talked to on MySpace. It's a long story, and you don't want to know, trust me.

And I don't think she has ever even talked to him. Just seen him in the hallway before class. How could you know if you like someone or not just by looking at them?

But it is possible, I guess. Women's Intuition. I can tell just by looking at someone if they are bad or good. I just can't tell if I looooove them or not. You need time to get to know each other, and to just talk. If you can talk to each other for hours about nothing, and you feel good when you're around them, and you get excited when you recieve a text from them, then you like them. Possibly love them.

"I just think we are too young to fully understand the strong meanings of 'love' and 'hate'."

Peace. ♥

Half Day =P

Ugh, I hate half days. I'm so extremely BORED!

So I decided to post some quizzes. I noticed I haven't posted any in a really long time. I miss them. (Haha, I know y'all don't) =)

You Are Monday

Like this day of the week, you are ruled by the moon.

More than anything, you are flexible.

You are moody and impressionable. You are easily influenced by the world around you.

And while you can be temperamental, you eventually adjust.

While Mondays tend to be the hardest day for people, you don't mind getting back to regular life.

You're the one waking up early and making the coffee while everyone else complains.

What Day of the Week Are You?
You Are 35% Hyper

You aren't exactly hyper, but no one would accuse you of being lazy either.

You have enough drive to get everything done - with energy to spare.

You don't get overly worked up or rushed. You'll happily take your time.

And you definitely enjoy your down time. You can only be hyper for so long.

Unlike more hyper types, you don't have a ton of interests and friends.

You prefer concentrating on what matters to spreading yourself too thin.

How Hyper Are You?
You Are a Bullmastiff

You are confident, reasonable, and very calm. Nothing shakes you up.

It's likely that you were a bit wild when you were younger, but you've gotten that out of your system.

The only time you get aggressive is when someone tries to threaten or harm you in some way.

There's a little bit of wolf underneath all that sheep's clothing!

What Breed of Dog Are You?
You Are a Caramel Latte

You often are feeling indulgent - and you go ahead and indulge yourself.

You are very creative. And you know you need to stimulate your senses to get your creative juices flowing.

You are a truly optimistic person. You see the best in yourself and in everyone else.

Your life can be a bit messy at times, but the most beautiful things come out of your chaos.

What Flavor Latte Are You?
You Are 20% British

Listen mate - you're definitely not British. Or Australian. Or Canadian even.

British culture is simply not your cup of tea. And you're obviously off your trolley!

If it just so happens that you live or come from Great Britain, you're still not British.

There's not really anything British about you. Do you even like football matches or beer?

How British Are You?
You Are A Peanut

You are popular, even with people who tend to have picky taste.

Kids love you, as do dogs. From rednecks to snobs, most people have a place for you in their hearts.

As popular as you are, there are some people who can't be near you.

Don't take it too personally. There's just a few people you rub the wrong way.

You Will Die at Age 76

You're pretty average when it comes to how you live...

And how you'll die as well.

Your Famous Last Words Will Be:

"I can pass this guy."

You Are Vanilla Ice Cream

Flexible. Easygoing. Classic.

Happy Friday! =D

Peace.

Another Day Like Yesterday...

Today was okay, I guess.

Orchestra was great again. We're sounding stronger and broader with each rehearsal.

Then comes world geography. I think I did amazing on my mid-terms. It was so freakin' easy. But usually when I find it easy I either fail it, or get a really low grade. At least I get ten extra bonus points for winning the Deal or No Deal game! =D

So my friend that I told you about in my last post who called me and my friend a 'cute couple' said it again. To the guy. While I was there. Awkward. We were both like 'Eeew gross!'. But the funniest part was I used to like this other guy from middle school who is now in my world geography class also. Both of the guys are also in orchestra too. He was sitting right next to us when we were talking about that. I stopped liking him for the fact that I never thought he liked me back. Well, when my friend said we were a cute couple, his face went bright red, like he was either jealous or mad. It was so funny! =P

And I think I made a huge mistake. I told the girl who originally liked him that I like him now. She's pissed at me again. Oops.

Tomorrow's a half day. Woot.

So that means that I don't have orchestra. Yessss! So I don't have to bring my violin to school. And I also don't have world geography, so I don't get to see the guy. Oh well. World geography is now my favorite class. Haha.

I decided that I'm not going to the plant sale. I went two out of the three weeks, and we only had to go to one. I thought I needed a day to sleep in and just relax the whole day.

Peace.

Complicated

So this is what happened today:

Orchestra was great! We got so much done! And we sounded really great!

I wasn't able to talk to my friend before orchestra, so I just asked him during world geography. He, of course, said no. And I felt really bad telling my friend, and still do, but what was I suppose to say? Uh, he said yes? That would be so horrible of me to do to both of them. So I told her the truth. What really pissed me off, was she made me go through all of that, and she sad: "Whatever. I'm already over him." Ugh.

We played Deal or no Deal in world geography today to prepare for the exams tomorrow. My best guy friend is in my class, and so is one of my best girl friends. It was boys against girls (and of course the girls won!) and I sat in front of my friend. She randomly told me "You know, you and [not saying guy's name for obvious reasons] would make such a cute couple." This surprised me, and made the girl who originally liked him get pissed off at me. Haha.

Then, my friend told me that if I didn't ask him out, she would for me. I'm definitely not, so i guess she will have to. I'll have to be in denial this whole week.

It's not that I don't want to ask him out. Because I so would if he wasn't my friend. I just think it would be awkward, as I had said in my last post. But I think he sorta kinda likes me too. Ugh, it's so confusing. It's like when you get the feeling when you know someone totally despises you. Well, I get the extreme opposite off that from him.

So I really don't know what I'm going to do. I'll just let what's meant to happen, happen.

Oh yeah, I have exams tomorrow and on Friday. Tomorrow I have orchestra and world geography, and on Friday I have English and French. I feel really confident about them. I really don't think I'm going to fail. (Now watch me get the lowest grade in the class =P)

And I think the fitness gram went really well, too. Except my friend and I walked the mile and were the last ones out there. Oh well, that's fine with me. I really don't care.

Peace.

Awkward Situations

So I was just texting my friend, and she said that one of my friends who she loooves, was "hot and yummy" (don't ask). So tomorrow she wants me to ask him out for her. And me, being the kind person that I am *giggles* said sure, yeah, whatever. Now this kind of creeps me out. She said she didn't know how to ask him out. (the hot and yummy part also creeped me out a little bit too =P).

But it's still just the whole concept of it. I have to ask one of my best guy friends if he will go out with my other friend, who I know he hates and can't stand.

Ugh, tomorrow's going to be fun.

It'll probably creep him out too, me asking him if he has a girlfriend (awkward!). But I feel really bad for my other friend (the girl). She has had a bad experience with guys. And she has a horrible taste in them too. Almost all of the guys she dated cheated on her, were pervs, or just wanted to use her for you know what. So now I feel obligated to ask him out for her. And my friend is probably one of the greatest guys I know, and is definately the sweetest.

If only he didn't hate her...

And the biggest problem of them all: I sorta kinda like him too. Ugh.

Not that I would ever tell him or anything...=)

And on a different topic: Did you ever realize how awkward it is to spelll the word 'awkward'?

Peace.

Ugh =P

Still tired. I don't know what to post about. I'm sooo bored =P

I have to take the fitness gram on Wednesday. What it is, is a program that tests your physical fitness. It's stupid. You have to do sit ups, crunches, push ups, and all of those kinds of things. Then you run a mile. That, I am so going to fail.

Thankfully I don't have any vocab in English this week. Woot.

Mid-terms are this week. I think I'm going to pass all of them. For orchestra we don't have a written one, we just have to play scales and stuff we do everyday. World Geography will be easy, and so will English. And French I know I will get a 100 or a *gasp!* 98. I highly doubt I will get anything lower than that.

I'm thinking I might go to the final plant sale weekend this Saturday. I'm still not sure if I will or not, but I might.

Peace.

Yayayay!!! Finally, after 78 days of it being out, I finished it!

I was so mad at it though, I stopped reading it around page 500, like, a month ago, but yesterday I started reading it again! Now I don't understand how anybody could've hated it! I loved the ending, I wont say it just in case anyone else didn't finish it yet, but I loved it! I thought it was so perfect, what Bella could do. It was truly amazing!

Plant Sale Week 2

Hey y'all!

I just got back from the second week of the plant sale. It was fun. For three hours my friends and I goofed around holding up signs in front of the school and looking like idiots (right, Taylor?! haha =)

Yep, so that's it for my weekend. Tomorrow I'm going to sleep in, since I haven't slept in later than six for about a week. I'm exhausted.

I think I'm gonna go sleep now.

Tu parles français?

Tomorrow I'm working at the plant sale fundraiser for orchestra for the second time. I have nothing better to do tomorrow, and they needed help, so I thought I might as well do it =)

There's really nothing else that's exciting. I had a test in French today that was 100 questions. Well, we only had to do 90 today because there was a listening part and we had a sub today, so we couldn't do it, but it still was a lot of questions! The sub was nice (i know, so freakin' boring!) and I think I got a 100 on it, it was waaay too easy. And plus it was open book, but I rarely had to use my book. I finished it in almost 20 minutes, and then the sub asked me to bring the attendance paper to the attendance office, so I wandered aimlessly around the halls for about 5 minutes. Then I read for the rest of the class, which was about an hour. It was sooo boring! =P

I'm going to go to the book store tomorrow after the plant sale. I plan on getting the second book in the Lightning Thief series. It's a great series, I highly recommend it =)

Uhmm....yeah, that's it. Oh yeah I was bored while my mom was driving me to school today and I took this awesome pic with my cell phone:

It was cloudy today, but not really. The clouds were like polka dots! It was cool. I like cloudy, dark depressing days, like this:

And this:

Yep, that's it. I'll post about the plant sale tomorrow when I get back. (And btw, the title meas 'do you speak french')

Peace.

Goodbye Fall...

I wish that there'd actually be a fall here. There are no changing leaves, no cool weather. There are only two seasons here: hot, and cold and rainy. Blech. =P All there is, is an extremely hot summer, then a short period of cold, rainy weather, then BAM! winter. If it is even classified as winter. I love snow and cold, blizzard-like weather. I love days where it is snowing so hard outside that you can't see your backyard, so all you can do is sit in front of your fireplace, and drinking hot chocolate (with mini marshmallows!) while sitting under a warm, cozy quilt and reading a good book. Yep, those are the best days...

But unfortunately it rarely snows here, and even when it does snow, like half an inch, school is closed, which totally shocks me. Where I used to live, even if it would snow 6 feet, there would still be school. Probably only because we would be prepared for blizzards, which here we are not.

So anyway, the picture up above is like what my backyard use to look like. Totally amazing. Now you know why I miss it so much =) Almost every morning there would be a bunny outside, and once there was a deer. The best time was Christmas a few years ago, and when we looked out our window, there were deer tracks in the front of our backyard, near our window. It was amazing to think that an animal would get so close to our house, because they never usuallly did. =)

So happy fall, y'all (ugh, it sounds so weird when I say it, and feels weird and awkward when I type it!).

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist ♪♫ =)

Today I went to the movies with some friends, as I said I would in my previous post. We saw Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, which is one of the best movies EVER! "I found Jesus! What? Jesus! He's much taller in person..." Haha, very funny =)

After the movie we were going to go to a shoe store and act like stalkers, eat ice cream, and just basically look creepy, but we decided not to. We didn't have enough time, because we also went to Game Exchange, a gaming store, and bought energy drinks! But it didn't work for me, I'm still tired...=P

Before we went to the movies we went to Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream store. One of the greatest ice cream places ever. I got Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream (wow, now isn't that useless information?!) It was good, but it melted as soon as we got outside.

We walked around the mall for awhile afterwards. If you can even call it a mall. Its just basically an outside area with a whole bunch of stores in it. It would be so cool if we had a REAL mall close by, that was actually inside and you didn't have to walk from store to store in 90 degree weather. But today it was a little bit colder than usual, around 80 degrees, and it was a bit windy, so it was almost the perfect day to walk around the 'mall'. If only it would rain once in awhile here...

Next week I don't think I have anything going on. I just realized that I'm going to be SO busy in December, January, and February with a whole bunch of orchestra fundraisers, charities, and concerts. At least I'll have a lot to post about then! =D

Plant Sale

Today we had the plant sale fundraiser for orchestra. It was sooo much fun. All we had to do was stand in front of our school and sell plants. Barely anyone came to buy plants though, but those who did buy bought at least $100 worth of stuff, so we should have enough money to pay for part of our trip to San Antonio in March. I'm so excited for it! =D

So all I did today, besides helping the customers we rarely got, was hang out with my friends who volunteered to help out today. This one girl brought her camera, and some of the sophomore and junior guys were being stupid, so we took pictures of them making gay poses out in front of the plant sale sign and the school. Some of them were too good at it... Hope the orchestra teacher didn't secretly drive by to check to see how everything was going. Oops. I think that's also why we didn't get many customers. They saw them and got scared so they drove away =)

So for the rest of the day I'm probably going to relax, which I haven't done in awhile. I'm always so busy with school, between practicing the orchestra music, lessons after school with the orchestra teacher, and also private lessons which I also have once a week. =P

Tomorrow I'm going to the movies with some friends, so that will be a nice change from my normal Sundays, which is doing absolutely nothing. =)

Yep. That's been my exciting week. ♪ ♫

Silence is Golden

That's just something that I strongly believe in. I think if you don't have anything to say, then just don't say anything! Especially in car rides, because you can't escape. I like a quiet car ride, with or without music, it doesn't really matter. It just bugs me so much when people talk just to talk. I love to have long conversations with people, but it just bugs me when people ramble, and try to find something else to say, when they didn't have anything to say to begin with.
And that brings me to my next thought: If you don't know what you're talking about, don't talk about it! I hate it when people nod their head or say 'yup' or 'yeah' if they just entered in the middle of the conversation, or when they pretend to understand something. I don't know why, but it just really bugs me! Am I the only weird one who feels his way?
Oh yeah, and isn't the picture above one of the cutest things you've ever seen?! =D

The Orchestra Concert ♪

So I just got back from the orchestra concert. Everything went really well. No one tripped up or down the stairs to the stage, which surprised me *Taylor* and we didn't crash and burn ha =) and luckily the fire alarm didn't go off, which happened to a group in my old school a few years ago. So yeah it was boring. I mean, c'mon, you need SOME chaos. You'd know what I mean if you've ever read The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. Amazing book. Seriously, you have to read it.

But anyway, it was kinda boring. But no offense to the 3rd period orchestra who did an absolutely AMAZING job. They sounded AWESOME. No kidding. They seriously did. They sounded a lot better than we did, and we were awesome too. I thought we could've done better with intonation, which was kinda partly but not really my fault =)

So now tomorrow we have to start practicing for UIL, which Ill explain what it is when we get closer to it. That's gonna be fun. Haha not, really, but still, we get to miss school, which is always a plus. And I guess it is kinda fun, because other than the time we spend auditioning we get to hang out with our friends on the bus. If only we could wear t-shirts and jeans instead of those ugly dresses.....

When I Heard the Learn'd Astronomer

When I heard the learn'd astronomer,
When the proofs, the figures, were ranged in columns before me,
When I was shown the charts and diagrams, to add, divide, and measure them,
When I sitting heard the astronomer where he lectured with much applause in the lecture room,
How soon unaccountable I became tired and sick,
Till rising and gliding out I wandered off by myself,
In the mystical moist night air, and from time to time,
Looked up in perfect silence at the stars.
~Walt Whitman

We read that poem in English today. And I actually liked it. A LOT. Which is really suprising to me, because I don't usually like the stuff we read. Except Edgar Allen Poe stuff. Those are cool =)
So the reason that I liked it, is because the theme is really a good one. And I actually understood it right away, which is a first. What I believe it is trying to say, is that you should appreciate all the little things in life, like the speaker appreciates looking at the stars at night. He prefers that over reading the facts and information about them. He appreciates the stars for what they are, and not what they are made of. =)

The Results...

Ok, so unfortunately, I didn't make the district orchestra =P but I'm okay with it. I totally don't mind at all. I'm suprisingly not dissappointed. I think my parents were A LOT more disappointed than I was haha =) It's just one less thing to worry about and practice...
Oh yeah and tomorrow we have our first orchestra conecert! =P It's going to be a lot of fun, and I think we sound REALLY good, especially from our playing level from last year. I am SO excited and can't wait! =D Unfortunately we have to wear REALLY ugly uniforms though. And I extremely emphasize 'really' and 'ugly'. But that's the only really bad part. =)

District Auditions ♪♫

I just came back from the district auditions. =P For those of you that dont know what it is, its an audition for an orchestra, and you audition with other people that are also auditioning in the same room that you are. You each take turns playing the few pieces they already chose for you by yourself. The cool part is that the judge is behind a curtain, so you dont see them staring at you the whole time your auditioning and making you feel nervous. Your back while your playing is to the other kids, so your basically just playing to the curtain, which is pretty awesome because you barely feel nervous at all.
So I think I did okay, I didnt screw up or anything, but it wasnt like i was totally amazing and outstanding or anything. Ill know my score on monday, so ill post it then. =D

The First Day

I wish I could remember the first day,
First hour, first moment of your meeting me;
If bright or dim the season it might be;
Summer or winter for aught I can say.
So, unrecorded did it slip away,
So blind was i to see and to forsee,
So dull to mark the budding of my tree
That would not blossom, yet, for many a May.

If only I could recollect it! Such
A day of days! I let it come and go
As traceless as a thaw of bygone snow.
It seemed to mean so little, meant so much!
If only now I could recall that touch,
First touch of hand in hand! - Did one but know!
